The Arts: A True Public Service

Dear Fellow Partners of the Arts,
As we sit here in our homes and spend time reflecting where we are in history, a common element has emerged to the forefront of our mind: The Arts. During this time of sequestration, it is more crucial than ever to acknowledge the critical role that the arts have in our lives.
Whether through music, art, dance, drama, theatre, or film, the arts are essential to our community. They soothe, calm, excite, draw our emotion, and help us find a deeper meaning. The arts are a way of making sense of and understanding ourselves and others. Our lives would be entirely different without it.
Since 2003, we at the Southwest Washington Center for the Arts have sought to build a performing arts hall where we can celebrate our talents and gifts in all forms of art. A place to gather to express that creative voice inside each of us.
As we continue through these uncertain times, we strive to be a source of hope, inspiration and moral support. We invite you to join us on our journey as we uplift our arts community and continue to work towards making this dream of a state-of-the-art center a reality.
Sincerely,
Kathy McDonald, Executive Director
